Mar 15, 2001 · Since SQL*Server doesn't have both functions and procedures, ODBC call syntax is much friendlier with procedures. If you omit a REF CURSOR parameter, as I have done above, the ODBC driver will automagically fill in the blanks and return the appropriate result set.

This query does not return rows, use connection.execute query - there is no need for a recordset (which presumably fails due to the driver not supporting one of the lock/cursor options - neither of which are optimal for an insert anyway) – Alex K. Aug 8 '14 at 11:38
