Aug 29, 2013 · I am a Parallels 7 User and I couldn't upgrade to version 8 or 9 or whatever without Firewire support. :-(Firewire is the ONLY feature I've ever wanted to have, I do a lot of digital editing and I want to be able to capture from a Firewire device like a Canon XH-A1.

Oct 13, 2016 · So I contacted support again and after 4 hours they told me Windows is no longer going to support the Firewire adapter because it is obsolete. Apple still sells the Thunderbolt Firewire adapter and is supported on Mac, so it is not obsolete. I want to know why Windows will no longer provide an IEEE1394 driver for this device.

Aug 11, 2011 · No you can't run Windows from Firewire disk due to limitations in Windows. If the games are older - you may be able to use VMWare Fusion or Parallels to install Windows in a VM on external disk and play them that way.
