IPv6 is not supported in the configuration of an interface IPv6 address as the default source IP address used in the IP headers of SNMP notifications (traps and informs) or responses sent to SNMP requests. Only IPv4 addresses are supported in the following configuration commands:

Jun 24, 2013 · The SNMP trap receiver assumes that any SNMP TrapVarbind of type inetaddress is an IPv4 inet address; this presents a problem with devices sending IPv6 addresses in the trapvarbinds. An example is shown below:

Is anybody aware of (windows) utility which can send SNMP traps to IPv6 addresses? I've tried trapgen but it seems it's not able to work with IPv6 addresses. Also there is net-snmp windows port but it's a real pain to use it for sending traps. For me it didn't work at all. It always failed with "Cannot find module (TRAP-TEST-MIB):". Thanks.
