For users looking for the best SSD support on Linux, it’s crazy not to at least give Btrfs a look. 2 EXT4. For those not looking for fancy features like “copy-on-write” or filesystem “snapshots” done the Btrfs way, Extended 4 may be a good choice for a solid-state drive.

Aug 08, 2011 · It isn't hard at all, and SSD's are definitely supported. And FYI, there is no "official" linux support for your notebook computer. Installing linux on it is on your end man.... Linux is free and open source, and there are no warranties, etc, that come with linux and/or support. The best support is online, and on these forums.

Jul 17, 2019 · Chose a regular HDD instead of a SSD to be on the safer side. I need to get a more detailed knowledge on hardware front to be able to manually install the OS. Anyway, I obtained a copy of - The Linux Command Line (linuxcommand.org) and Linux in a Nutshell from Oreily. Downloaded the TLDP documentation of bash scripting, got them printed and bound.

Dec 17, 2008 · Personally, I think SSD drivers are still not there for server usage. Price is still a big factor too. Sure disk I/O is great on SSD, but price per GB is not. BTW, Linux dose support SSD. Have you tried out SSD in a production environment? I’d love to hear your thoughts on SSD before I place an order for our data center for testing purpose.

Jan 03, 2017 · I've got a new M.2 SSD. I'm trying to install Grub with Arch Linux on it. In the UEFI for my Motherboard, if only UEFI is allowed for boot, the M.2 SSD disappears. It only shows up when Legacy is enabled. I have an MSI Z70 PC Mate motherboard. Is there something I'm missing in this? I know UEFI implementation can be quirky between motherboard manufacturers, but a new technology like M.2 not ...
