For easy (and fast) YV12 support, you can also try out the command line utility AVS2AVI - compresses video from an AviSynth script using any VFW codec, see also here. The MPEG-1/MPEG-2 encoders HC and QuEnc also support (and even require) YV12. How do I use v2.5x if the encoding programs can't handle YV12 (like TMPGEnc or CCE SP)?

Hi there, Why can't i render my source filter? It outputs media of YV12 format. Does this mean that my video card doesn't support YV12 format? Are there any filters which can convert YV12 to YUY2? thanks! · If your video card supports YV12 I think the renderer should use it, but I'm not 100% sure if there are any limitations in the standard renderers ...

Dec 09, 2014 · The codec in an AVI file is identified by a fourcc -- a four letter code that indicates what codec is used. Even if the video is uncompressed it needs to have a fourcc to tell the program that opens it what uncompressed format the data is in. Try using installing ffdshow and enabling the YV12 fourcc decoder. Or install some other YV12 decoder.
