Jul 16, 2008 · In fact, iChat sees the iSight as the sound source, but will not let me video chat, even on the local network (Gig Ethernet). I get the same message - This computer does not support video conferencing.

Apr 11, 2006 · I have tried 3 different routers (2 netgears, 1 linksys-all updated with latest firmware) and all 3 for some reason will not allow ichat video to work. However if I take the router out of the mix, and use a direct connection to my dsl modem, it works.

Jul 10, 2008 · I upgraded to Leopard and video conferencing isn't working on ichat. I have a MBP, C2D, 2.33 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 256 MB ATI RADEON. When I go into the ichat Preferences pane and click on Video/Audio, there is a message ' This computer does not support videoconferencing.'

Oct 04, 2013 · BEFORE i upgraded to Mountain Lion, iChat video worked fine. NOW video chat does not work with Messages (see attached screen capture). the camera is detected and working (green led comes on when i open Audio/Video Preferences), but Messages thinks the machine does not support video chats.

To video conference between AIM and iChat you will need either an AIM (AOL Instant Messaging network) screen name or a .Mac member name (Mac users can use either.) Both are free. You do not need to sign-up for AOL to get the screen name for video conferencing. AIM 6.0 will not audio or video chat with iChat.
