The only thing that can account for the speed of the Towers' collapse is controlled demolition - where cutter charges and explosives were placed throughout the core of the building, timed to explode and pop out sections of floors and beams to clear a path and create the vacuum that was necessary to account for the tumbling speed of the Twin Towers.

The beams were cut. Technically if the planes really did bring down the twin towers it would have done it upon impact with that giant fire ball explosion that was created. That's why I say the beams were cut and for the both the building fall straight down each vertical support beam needed to be cut at a 45 degree angle inwards.

The beam definately looks like an angled cut was made to it, and does not seem to suggest at all that this was done after the towers fell. I have seen several other angle-cut beam images since 9/11. Will try to find them and post.
