Aug 08, 2014 · I am using VMware Player to run a virtual machine on my desktop, and have successfully created one from a VHD file that contains a system disk image. I now wish to add a data disk image that is a VHDX file - it is too large for a VHD image - but VMware Player does not recognise this. Does anyone know if VMware Player Plus will accept such an image?

I don’t want to make that VHD as a bootable one and run as a separate host OS. Since, already I had a VMWare Workstation 9.0 Installed on my machine, I thought of importing this VHD into my VMWare. VMware player does not allow me to change the device type from SCSI to IDE… It does support IDE device thought because CD-ROM is set as IDE device. I can not really use CD-ROM to read the VHD file …
