May 08, 2017 · IMHO the Western supporters of communism supported the ideals of Marx (equality) and a repressive form of government headed by what they saw as people like themselves, i.e. intellectuals. The truth of course was brutal oppression, deprivation and mass murder and dictatorships by whatever animal (like Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc.) brutal enough to seize power.
