Yes, you can put a Time Machine backup on an existing NTFS disk. You need a read/write NTFS driver (the 3 I know of are Tuxera, Paragon & OSXFuse+NTFS-3g), and you need to create a sparsebundle disk image with a specific .plist file inside. Then it works. Once you have the NTFS driver, it will take you about 2 minutes.
