The Wii mini does not support the use of an SD Card. If you have not yet updated your Wii console to Wii Menu 4.0 or higher, then your Wii console is only compatible with SD Cards that are 2 GB (Gigabyte) or less. Cards with a capacity higher than 2 GB will likely not work with the Wii console if it has not been updated to 4.0 or higher.

May 20, 2013 · After a minute or so, the Wii finally finished it’s scan of the 128 GB SDXC card and reported that it had over 976,649 blocks free! That’s quite a bit of space for Wii saved data! For a device produced in 2006 and equipped with a SDHC slot, it’s amazing to see that it’s compatible with the latest large capacity SDXC cards.

Aug 12, 2016 · I personally just stick with multiple 32GB cards and see how that goes. I don't have to worry about compatability since the Wii U surely supports 32GB SDHC. I'm going to see if I can wire a USB extension cable to the end of a Micro SD to SD adapter and see if I can get my 1TB HDD working on my Wii U as a SD card.
