Jun 26, 2011 · If you are referring to the Gigabyte G41M-ES2L Motherboard, it can in theory support DDR3 memories, but you can not install that memory on this motherboard because it has only DDR2 slots. When you talk about DDR3, it means triple channel memory...that would mean that you would need at least three slots for memory in your motherboard.

Jan 17, 2012 · If your notebook is currently using DDR2 it won't support DDR3. They are both technically and physically different. There was only a handful of desktop motherboards supporting both but neither at the same time nor in all slots. They had 2 slots dedicated to DDR2 and another 2 for DDR3.
