Does it support SIP URI dialling (in simple terms it sort of works like P2P but than for phones, eg dial [email protected]) If setup correctly you can use that to route calls using DNS.

Nov 08, 2014 · I just setup a Elastix server for my business and am looking for an iax2 compatible desk phone. I would love a Yealink SIP-T38G but I cannot find anywhere if it supports iax2 or not. The reason for requiring iax2 is the Watchguard firewall at my datacenter wont pass the sip packets correctly.5/5(3)

Apr 16, 2009 · IAX2 is now, by the way, an RFC supported standard. RFC 5456 Perhaps this phone is based on the AR1688 chipset (successor to the PA1688) which has IAX2 and SIP stacks built in. I’m surprised more devices don’t exist that support IAX2, since this chipset is inexpensive and seems to have some good support from the supplier.
