When I manually set the status using Adium, Skype updates its status correctly. When idle/away through inactivity, on activity Adium goes back online OK but Skype does not change and stays "Away". I have to manually change the status (in Adium) to get Skype to go back "Available".

Feb 27, 2006 · So here's how I installed the third-party Adium message view style “Stockholm” as a Skype chat style. Create a folder named “ChatStyles” in Library/Application\ Support/Skype. Copy an Adium message view style of your choice to the new ChatStyles folder. When you launch Skype, it will have the new chat style(s) in its pop-up menu.

Nov 08, 2011 · Skype is a proprietary, closed protocol, so someone must reverse-engineer it before third-party clients like Pidgin and Adium can use it. Protocols like OSCAR (AIM) and MSN have already been reverse-engineered, but they're much older than Skype, and reverse-engineering is hard.
