Hi @steeldriver I have isolated the fault to being shares that are hosted off the home directory. Whenever I try to share anything off /home/john/ , then exportfs comes up with the same error: "does not support NFS export". Do you know why this would be? – john smith Feb 9 at 19:30

May 10, 2015 · My testserver is on 6beta15 I just enabled NFS, set export for a share to yes and see: exportfs: /mnt/user/Media Hal does not support NFS export in the syslog. Can someone explain this? Is something wrong?

Due to NFS doesn't work under encrypted directory and this is probably only your home folder, you must move your directory to unencrypted space. In my case I've move vangrat project dir from /home/me/vagrant/project > /var/www/vagrant/porject.
