Dec 04, 2013 · At the present moment, SNMPv3 traps are still not working. I tested on SCOM 2012 R2 UR5.We've just had a case with MS support regarding SNMPv3 traps. The official answer is still that SNMPv3 traps are not supported. There is no public document about this problem, but support engineer promised to contact the product group about it.

Aug 29, 2016 · We are primarily running Enterprise versions of the NetScaler, so we cannot use the new SCOM MP's which is developed after the release of the 10.5 SCOM MP in June 2014! The lack of support of SNMPv3 is a huge problem.

SCOM may support SNMPv3 (not sure it does)but windows host's don't, there are hardly any 3rd parties software for SNMPv3 on win32. SCOM can also do SNMP and or WMI, so linux machines can be polled via SNMP or send traps (which has no password/community string, it's an alert type message).
